    This session highlights the importance of high-quality interactions, revisiting trauma, behaviour, neurological impact, and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. It introduces the ShREC approach for effective communication with children and young people, especially those with diverse communication needs. Strategies covered include PECS, symbols, Objects of Reference (OoRs), gestures, body language, Intensive Interaction, and AAC tools. Real-life examples are shared for evaluation and reflection.
